Question

What is the difference between primary, secondary, tertiary resources?

Answer

When researching for your assignments you will encounter different types of source materials; primary, secondary and tertiary.

Primary sources are firsthand evidence i.e. studies and research papers, letters and journals.

Secondary sources are any materials created using primary sources, i.e. reviews, newspaper articles etc.

Tertiary resources do not present any new information or offer an analysis.
