Question
How do I suggest a purchase for the library?
Does the library buy books I need for my course?
Answer
The Library acquires books that support teaching and research.
In line with the recommendations of the Non-Salary taskforce, the Library is reducing its collection spending. The Monograph (Book) Purchasing 2025 principles have been developed to meet these recommendations and will guide purchasing decisions in 2025-6.
Requested materials must align with the Library Collection Development policy, and meet at least one of the following criteria:
-
Teaching Support: The material is required or recommended for a current course
-
Note for undergraduate students: Please contact your lecturer to request teaching materials.
-
-
Research Support: The material fulfils a current research need
How to request a purchase:
- Academics and post-graduate students may submit requests using the Suggest a Purchase form.
- All requests will be reviewed by Library staff in accordance with the Monograph (Book) Purchasing 2025 principles.
For Course Convenors: Please refer to the Leganto Guide for information on managing course reading lists, including contact details for the Leganto support team.
