Question

What is a Read and Publish (RAP) agreement?

Answer

Read and Publish (RAP) agreements are an alternative to the traditional subscription model. They combine the cost of reading (closed, subscription access) and publishing (Article Processing Charges or APCs). They help both authors and libraries to increase the number of publications that are open access, as well as streamlining publishing processes for authors.

The ANU Library is signing agreements with certain publishers that allow ANU authors to publish journal articles via open access without paying for Article Processing Charges (APCs).

To find out more about RAP agreements please see the Read and Publish guide.
