Question

How can I download EBSCO eBooks to read offline?

Answer

EBSCO is introducing a new reader for accessing offline (downloaded) eBooks: Thorium Reader.  This replaces Adobe Digital Editions and provides a more accessible and user-friendly way to read downloaded eBooks on your device.

Online reading is not affected. You can continue to read EBSCO eBooks directly in your browser without installing any additional software, and the way you search for and access EBSCO eBooks will remain the same.

If you download EBSCO eBooks for offline reading, you will need to:

  •     Install Thorium Reader on your device
  •     Open and read your downloaded EBSCO eBooks using Thorium Reader

For further information, please see the Thorium reader guide.  Thorium has been installed on Information Commons machines on campus.  To download to ANU managed devices, please use the Company Portal.
